About Telugu Panchangam & Vedic Astrology
Telugu Panchangam Daily is a free Vedic Hindu calendar utility that dynamically calculates the traditional Panchangam for any location across the globe. Using the VSOP87 planetary model (a well-tested, open-source astronomical framework), it computes Panchangam parameters for your selected city. Timings are computed for reference; always consult a qualified Pandit for important decisions.
All calculations apply the Chitrapaksha (Lahiri) Ayanamsa, the standard sidereal correction officially recognized by the Indian Government's Calendar Reform Committee. This follows the standard sidereal framework used in traditional Telugu Panchangam publications for the 27 Nakshatras and 30 Tithis.
Key Panchangam Elements
- Tithi (Lunar Phase) — The angular separation between Moon and Sun in 12-degree increments, divided into Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight, Tithis 1-15) and Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight, Tithis 1-15).
- Nakshatra (Lunar Mansion) — The segment of the sidereal zodiac occupied by the Moon. The 27 Nakshatras from Ashwini to Revati define stellar energy patterns for each day.
- Yogam — Derived from the combined sidereal longitude of the Sun and Moon, divided into 27 segments of 13°20' each.
- Karanam — Half of a Tithi (6-degree increments), yielding 60 Karanas across one lunar month.
- Auspicious Timings — Abhijit Muhurtham, Brahma Muhurtham, and Amritha Kalam (Amrutha Gadiyalu) calculated from local sunrise and sunset.
- Inauspicious Periods — Rahu Kalam today, Yamagandam today, Durmuhurtham (also called Dhur Muhurtham), and Varjyam today — all derived from day-of-week sunrise divisions and planetary longitudes.
All Panchangam calculations run locally in your browser — no server-side computation is used for the astronomical data. The page loads fonts and advertising scripts from external servers, but the Panchangam computations themselves are entirely client-side. Whether you need today's Tithi for rituals, today's Nakshatram for matching, or Rahu Kalam today for scheduling, Telugu Panchangam Daily provides real-time calculations for Telugu communities in India, USA, Canada, UK, Middle East, Australia, and Asia.
Calculation Basis: Drik Ganita (modern astronomical) using Lahiri Ayanamsa. Tithi and Nakshatra shown are those active at local sunrise. Values may differ from Surya Siddhanta-based traditional Panchangam publications. Read full methodology & disclaimer →
